About

The story

We continued to operate our three businesses under this successful "umbrella" until it was evident we had outgrown the space.  I considered retirement until an opportunity arose in 2016, which enabled me to relocate to a new space across the square that included room for retail sales as well as a dream-come-true jewelry-making studio. I can't describe the feeling upon seeing my very own sign out front that finally said "Wishful Thinking."

Fast forward to February, 2018, and here I am on the corner of E. Louisiana & Tennessee Streets.  I'm still on the Square but in a larger space full of large windows, wood floors, exposed brick walls & lots of bead board!!!

Thank you for viewing this site!  Whether you live in the Dallas area or plan to travel here, I hope you will visit Wishful Thinking in person.  It is my heartfelt wish to make yours come true!

Hello!  I'm Patty Streber, hailing from Rochester, NY.  My husband Skip and I have been married for 48 years and have 3 great sons.   We are so blessed with their families and 4 amazing grand-children. After trying my hand throughout the years at many arts and crafts,  I happily settled into handcrafting jewelry in 2001, from my home in Long Island, NY, and Wishful Thinking was born. For six years, I partnered with many stores in my area and on Cape Cod, where my family has had a second home since 1985.   After moving to McKinney, TX in 2007, I opened my first retail space in 2010, on the historic McKinney square as a dealer inside Home & Garden Trading Co.  In 2013, I joined forces with two dear friends from H&G to open The Crystal Cloche.
